Denmark have triumphed in the World Amateur Team Championship at Carton House in Ireland.
The team, which featured European Amateur Champion, Nicolai Hojgaard and his twin brother, Rasmus, finished on a total of 39-under-par to lift the trophy for the first time.
The Danish team was tied for fourth place heading into the final round, but a 67 (-6) from Rasmus and a 66 (-7) from Nicolai, which featured five birdies on the back-nine, was enough to edge over a strong USA team and win by one stroke.
John Axelsen, the third player in the team, which was captained by Torben Nyehuus, tied for the lowest score of the week after making seven birdies and an eagle to shoot 64 (-8) in round one.
Spain finished in third place, three shots behind Denmark. Alejandro Del Rey matched Axelsen's score in round two which was preceded by a three-under-par 70 in round one.
Just two bogeys all week from the Spanish player and further rounds of 68 (-4) on the Montgomerie Course and 65 (-7) on the O'Meara Course left Del Rey on a total of 23-under-par and top of the individual leaderboard.
Five other European teams finished inside the top-10; Norway and Italy tied for fifth on 32-under-par, England finished eighth one shot further back, and Germany and Ireland finished in a tie for 10th place on 27-under-par.
