Eighth-seeds, Finland, faced hosts, Germany, and England played Denmark in the semi-finals on the fourth day of the European Amateur Team Championship in Berlin.
Finland, who earned promotion to the championship by winning the division two event last year, went up early against Germany, securing both of the morning foursomes matches.
Veeti Mähönen and Sami Välimäki defeated Jannik De Bruyne and Timo Vahlenkamp 4&3 in match two, while match one was decided on the 19th hole.
England also claimed their morning foursomes matches against Denmark with the same scores. Matthew Jordan, and Gian Marco Petrozzi, who lead the individual stroke play ranking, defeated the Hojgaard twins 4&3 while David Hague and Nick Poppleton won their match on the 19th hole.
Germany won the first two afternoon singles of their match, and Finland claimed the third through Sami Välimäki. Jannik De Bruyn defeated Matias Honkala 3&2 meaning the tie would be decided by the last match. A narrow one-up victory by Aleksi Myllymäki over Michael Hirmer would secure Finland a place in their first ever European Amateur Team Championship final.
England and Denmark's match was also extremely close. Four of the five afternoon singles went to the 17th hole or further, although it would ultimately be England who advanced with singles wins from Matthew Jordan and Mitch Waite enough to secure their second successive appearance in the final.
England will be trying to win a record 12th title on Saturday, while Finland will be hoping to win their first European Team Championship in any category.
