Quarter-Finals - European Senior Team Championships

The quarter-final matches are complete at the European Senior Men's and Ladies' Team Championships in Denmark and Bulgaria.

At BlackSeaRama Golf & Villas, hosting the ladies' event, all four quarter-final matches were a repeat of the final round matches from the 2018 championship.

Top stroke play qualifiers, and last year's runners-up, Sweden, took on defending champions, Germany, in the first match of the day. The foursomes was close, and went down the 18th hole, but the point went to Sweden with a 1up victory. Maria Liberg and Lotta Redin then won their singles matches to give Sweden an unasailable advantage and a spot in the semi-finals.

In the second quarter-final of the day, Spain never looked in danger as they won all of the first three matches against Belgium to earn a spot in the first semi-final with Sweden.

The other two quarter-finals between Ireland and the Netherlands, and England and France, were closely contested, with both being decided by the final singles match on the 18th hole.

England triumphed 3-2 over France to advance to the semi-finals, and will face Ireland who closed out the Netherlands by the same score.

They'll face neighbours, England, who triumphed 4-1 over Sweden.

The hosts, Denmark, won all five of their matches against Spain to earn a semi-final match up with Ireland, who convincingly dispatched defending champions, Germany.
