Golf Club St. Leon-Rot lead the European Ladies' Club Trophy after round one in Hungary. Players had to contest with cool weather and high winds on Thursday at Balaton Golf Club, meaning none of the 50 players in the field were able to return a score under-par.
The German club, who are looking for their sixth victory in the event, currently lead the way on +10. Paula Schulz-Hanssen, this year's European Young Masters champion, carded a six-over-par 78, while her teammate, Marie Bechtold, returned a four-over-par 76.
Lahinch Golf Club, Ireland, were on top of the leaderboard for an extended period of time, but finished the day in second position on +12, two strokes behind the leaders.
Defending champions, Hamburger Golf Club, are in contention on +16, six shots behind the German National Champions.
The round of the day came from GKG Golf Club's Hulda Gestsdottir, who birdied four of the last seven holes to card a two-over-par 74.
Two more rounds of stroke play remain as teams strive to crown their clubs as this year's European champions.
