A statement from EGA President, Jan Hubrecht, regarding Ukraine:
"Last Friday I spoke on the phone with the manager of the Ukrainian Golf Federation and, on behalf of all EGA members, expressed my great sorrow with their desperate situation. I subsequently exchanged emails and wished everyone well in these dark days and reminded them of the many hours of joy their players, officials, and family members gave all of us and of the friendship and camaraderie everyone so enjoyed.
It goes without saying that the EGA fully supports our Ukrainian friends.
Yesterday evening, 2 March 2022, the EGA Executive Committee convened a special meeting and concluded that the European Golf Association fully supports the International Olympic Committee’s recommendations and will therefore not allow teams, individuals and officials from Russia and Belarus to participate in EGA events this year. I can also confirm that no EGA events are planned for these two countries.
The EGA will continue to closely monitor the situation and may reassess its decisions and measures according to future developments."
