The European Team Championships are underway at four different venues across the continent.
The first of two rounds of stroke play qualifying are in the books as teams look to finish in the top-eight positions and qualify for the Flight A match play come Wednesday evening.
The five lowest of each team's six scores on days one and two will count towards the teams' stroke play totals.
European Amateur Team Championship
At Ljunghusens GC, Sweden, the GB&I teams have set the early pace. Last year's runners-up, England, and Ireland are both tied for the lead on nine-under-par. Conor Purcell led the way for the Irish team: The number-16 ranked amateur in the world made five birdies and an eagle on his way to a round of 67 (-5), while recently crowned Amateur Champion, James Sugrue, carded a two-under-par 70. Tom Sloman was England's top player in round one, making seven birdies to shoot 67 (-5).
Scotland sit just two shots further back on -7, tied with hosts, Sweden, for third position.
However, the lowest score of round one came from a team sitting outside the top-eight: Clément Charmasson of France birdied four of the last five holes to card the only 66 (-6) of the day. Recent European Amateur Championship and Amateur Championship runner-up, Euan Walker, sits in second place once again in the individual classification after a 67 (-5) tied him with Sloman and Purcell.
Spain (-1), Iceland (+3), Denmark (+6) and Austria (+8) are currently the other teams in the all-important top-eight qualifying positions, but France (+8), the Netherlands (+9), Germany (+9), and Wales (+10) are close behind.
One more round of stroke play qualifying remains as teams try and qualify for Flight A of the match play rounds.

European Ladies' Team Championship
Pia Babnik carded the lowest round of all 420 players competing across Europe today. The Slovenian player, who helped the Continent of Europe to victory in the Junior Vagliano Trophy less than a fortnight ago, made eight birdies in the first round at Is Molas Golf Resort, Italy to card a seven-under-par 65.
Hosts, Italy, are currently the team to catch, returning five scores under-par on day one, of which Anna Zanusso's six-under-par 66 was the lowest. The Italians sit on -17 with a five-shot advantage over Scotland, who also signed five scores under-par to reach -12.
Defending champions, Sweden, are in third position on -9. Frida Kinhult, the number-one ranked amateur player in the world, made double-bogey on the second hole, but recovered with five birdies to card a three-under-par 69.
Germany (-7), Spain (-7), England (-5), Denmark (-4) and the Czech Republic (-3) make up the rest of the top-eight. Ireland (par), Russia (par), and Switzerland (+1) are close behind and will be hoping to improve their position on day two and qualify for the Flight A match play.

European Boys' Team Championship, Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy
David Puig was the leading player in the stroke play qualifying rounds of last year's European Boys' Team Championship and looks set to repeat the feat at Golf de Chantilly this week. The Spanish player moved to two-over-par after a double-bogey on the par-five eighth hole but recovered with an eagle and four birdies to post a four-under-par 67, the lowest round of the day.
Germany (-3) are currently in the lead and are the only team with an under-par total. Jonas Baumgartner led the way for the German team with a round of 68 (-3), which was only matched by Adam Wallin of Sweden and England's Joe Pagdin.
Defending champions, Spain, sit in second place on three-over-par, while England, and last year's runners-up, Switzerland, are tied for third place on +5.
France (+13), Sweden (+16), Italy (+17), and Ireland (+18) are the other four teams in the top-eight heading into day two. Portugal (+22), who were promoted from Division 2 last year, and Austria (+25) sit in ninth and 10th positions.
The top-ranked player in the field, Alvaro Mueller-Baumgart of Spain, made 15 pars on his way to a level-par round of 71. Currently ranked third in the European Amateur Ranking, Mueller-Baumgart is making his first appearance in the Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy.

European Girls' Team Championship
Laura Schulz-Hanssen was the star on day one at Campo de Golf El Saler. Despite windy conditions on the Spanish coast, the German player had a blistering start, making six birdies on her opening nine to go out in just 30 strokes and help her team into the early lead on five-over-par.
Only four other players of the 108 competing managed under-par rounds. Caterina Don, who won the event with Italy last year, was one of them. The recent Vagliano Trophy winner returned a four-under-par 68 and is second in the individual classification.
The host nation, Spain, are in second position on +10, while defending champions, Italy, are third on +15.
The Netherlands (+14), Denmark (+15), Sweden (+17), England (+17) and the Czech Republic (+18) make up the remainder of the top-eight heading into day two.
Switzerland, currently in ninth position on +27, have a nine-shot gap to close tomorrow if they want to qualify for Flight A and the quarter-final matches. Ireland are three shots further back in 10th place on +30.
