EGA Golf Course Committee present at this year's
"Resource efficiency - Using less, living better"
24-27 May 2011 in Brussels
The EGA Golf Course Committee has been offered a speaking platform at this year’s Green Week (24-27 May) in Brussels. The presentation will be at session 4.7 “Biodiversity a precious key resource”. This is an opportunity for golf to demonstrate its potential to support and enrich biodiversity across the 6,800 golf courses in Europe, which utilise around 400,000 hectares of land. The presentation will highlight case studies, including Ljunghusen Golf Club that features in the Business and Biodiversity Platform’s ‘Tourism Sector Guidance Document’ and the EGA GCC 10-step guideline for biodiversity, which was also cited in the guidance document.
The EGA GCC will be well represented throughout Green Week, engaging with other stakeholders to develop its programme of encouraging golf facilities to do more for biodiversity and resource efficiency in general.
