Tribute to Dr Dieter Usner, EGA President 1999-2001
It was with great sadness that the EGA learnt of the passing of Dr Dieter Usner on the 5th February, 2017, following a brave battle against illness.
Dr Usner was an enthusiastic golfer who represented Austria in the European Amateur Team Championships in 1961 and 1963.
Dr Usner subsequently became the non-playing Captain of the Austrian Youths Team, a position he held for many years. He was a long-serving Vice President of the Austrian Golf Federation, from 1999 to 2001 was President of the European Golf Association, and an exceptionally dedicated EGA Honorary President thereafter.
Dr Usner will be greatly missed by all members of the EGA and our sincerest sympathy goes to his wife, Madeleine, and family.
