The European Amateur Championship kicked off today at Royal Hague Golf & Country Club, Netherlands. It is the first time the event has been hosted in the country since 1986, the first year it was played.
144 Players were on the start list this morning, all hoping to get their hands on the trophy and a spot in the 147th Open, come Saturday afternoon.
England's Matthew Jordan, who represented Europe at the Bonallack Trophy earlier this year, hit the first tee shot at 7:00am. He would finish with a two-over-par 74.
Perry Cohen leads on five-under-par. The Swiss player's only blemish came on the first hole, but he recovered with six birdies in the next 17 holes to shoot 67.
Adrien Pendaries, France, and Rasmus Hojgaard, Denmark, are both one shot back on four-under-par.
28 players currently find themselves under-par. Conditions were cool and breezy in the morning, but the sun came out and the fairways dried out in the afternoon.
