The European Men's and European Ladies' Team Shield Championships travel to Riverside Zagreb Golf this week. The event will be the first EGA championship hosted in Croatia.
13 teams of four players will compete for the men's event, first played in 2015, while 10 teams will strive for medals in the ladies' tournament, initiated in 2016.
Bosnia & Herzegovina and Luxembourg have entered teams into the men's event for the first time.
All players will play 18 holes of stroke play on day one, with the objective of qualifying as high as possible for the match play stages.
The top eight teams will then compete in 'Flight A', a match play bracket where the first seed plays the eighth seed, the second seed the seventh seed and so on, and have the chance to win medals.
The remaining teams will compete for final position.
All match play ties will be decided by one foursomes match and two singles matches with the winning teams crowned 2018 European Team Shield Champions.
Lithuania are the defending champions in the men's event, they defeated Turkey in a dramatic final at Pravets Golf Club, Bulgaria last year, while the ladies' event will be void of a defending champion, after 2017 champions, Turkey, entered a team in the European Ladies' Team Championship earlier this year.
