Four European players, accompanied by captain, Jennifer Henderson, have travelled to Hong Kong to represent two European teams at the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation Junior Championship this week.
Caitlin Whitehead fired a bogey-free 64 (-6), the lowest score of day one, to combine with Sakke Siltala's 69 (-1) and give Europe Team 1 a seven-shot lead on seven-under-par after the first round.
Luc Breuer carded a steady 71 in round one (+1) while Beth Coulter finished with a 78 (+8) to leave Europe Team 2 in 15th position.
On day two, the format being foursomes, Europe Team 1 maintained their lead with a one-under-par 69 in tough conditions, while Europe Team 2 carded a 74 (+4) to climb into 13th position.
The teams will play four ball in the final round on Friday as they try to bring the trophy home to Europe for the first time.
