Day three at the European Senior Ladies' Team Championship at Mont Garni Golf, Beligum saw eight teams fight for spots in Friday's semi-finals.
Number-one seeds, Spain, comfortably dispatched the Netherlands in the first encounter of the day, winning three matches by the 15th hole.
In a match-up paralleled in the European Senior Men's Team Championship today, England took on Sweden. Like the men's match, the tie was decided by extra holes in the last match on the course. Maria Liberg would go on to win the 20th hole and secure Sweden a match with Spain in the semi-finals.
The third match of the day also had to be decided by extra holes. With the score at two points each, 2017 European Senior Ladies' Champion, Susanne Lichtenberg, won the 19th hole to send Germany into the semi-finals at the expense of last year's winners, and five-times champions, France.
The host nation, Belgium, look to be in good form. After losing out on earning the number-one seed in the Flight A match play on the sixth 'non-counting' scores in the stroke play qualifying, they comfortably defeated Ireland to take the fourth semi-final spot against Germany.
