Scotland have earned the number-one seed for the match play phase of the European Senior Men's Team Championship. The Scottish team, led by two consecutive rounds of 70 (-2) from Ronnie Clark, totalled +10 with their five best scores each day to finish top of the stroke play leaderboard at Rungsted Golf Klub, Denmark.
Day one leaders, Ireland, also finished +10, but having higher non-counting sixth scores, will be seeded second for match play flight A.
Hosts, Denmark (+13), and England (+14) also earned spots in the top match play bracket after finishing third and fourth. They will face Spain (+36) and Sweden (+25) respectively in the quarter-finals.
Defending champions, Germany, and the Netherlands, claimed the final two spots in Flight A, both finishing with a score of +38. Belgium also finished with the same total, although having higher non-counting sixth scores, finished ninth to miss out on thursday's medal-contention matches by a single stroke. They will instead be the top seeds for Flight B, the second match play bracket, and compete for positions 9 to 16 over the next three days.
In the match play phase, countries go head-to-head with one foursomes match and four singles matches. Matches cannot be halved, and will go to the 19th hole and beyond if necessary, with teams needing to win three matches for overall victory.
Quarter-final matches:
Scotland vs. Netherlands
England vs. Sweden
