Spain and England have reached the final of the European Senior Ladies' Team Championship at BlackSeaRama Golf & VIllas.
In the first semi-final of the day, top-seeds, Sweden faced fourth-seeds, Spain. The Spanish team took an early lead, and were up in four matches after nine holes. The Swedish team fought back however, winning the 17th and 18th holes in the foursomes match to put the first point on the board with a 1up victory.
Although it wouldn't be enough, as the Spanish team won the next two singles matches, allowing Lourdes Barbeito to secure Spain's spot in the final with a three-metre putt and a 1up win on the 18th hole.
Four of the Spanish contingent were members of the team the last time the championship was played at BlackSeaRama in 2011. The Spanish team also reached the final that year, but had to settle for second place after losing to France in the championship match.
They will have the chance to go one better this year however, and would secure their first European Senior Ladies' Team Championship title with a victory in Saturday's final match against England.
Third-seeds, England, faced second-seeds, Ireland, in the second semi-final of the day. The match was extremely tight at the halfway stage, with just one hole seperating the two teams after nine: two matches were all-square, Ireland were 1up in two matches, and England were 1up in the other match.
The English team rallied on the back-nine however, winning three of the singles matches to secure their second final in the space of three years. They will have the chance to win their second European Senior Ladies' Team Championship on Saturday.
All of Friday's results, and the draw for Saturday's matches can be found on the championship web page.
