The European Junior Ryder Cup Team came out strong on Saturday and followed with four more points on Sunday to win the 2004 Junior Ryder Cup Matches, with a five point triumph of 8 1/2 to 3 1/2 over the United States.
The European team won the first three matches in Sunday's second and final day of match play, with the boy-girl pairs of Lluis Garcia del Moral and Carlota Ciganda, Zach Gould and Belen Mozo, and Oliver Fisher and Florentyna Parker earning the victories. The European team then won its eighth and final point in the last match with Dominic Angkawidjaja and Valerie Sternebeck claiming the victory.
Captain Andy Ingram and his European team happily accepted their trophy.
